Kdo je Jerneja Podbevšek Zhembrovskyy?
Jerneja danes sodi med izjemne in talentirane oblikovalce ter stiliste, vendar je kot majhna deklica želela postati balerina. Rojena je v Ljubljani, baletno akademijo pa je končala v Amsterdamu, na Nizozemskem, kjer je diplomirala z odliko leta 2008. Vendar usoda je imela zanjo drugačne načrte. I guess this one will be one of the most personal posts. The pictures definitely will be! Since my engagement I developed a great love affair with creating beautiful, urban, modern and custom made wedding gowns. And because it all started from my personal experience and since my wedding, more than a year ago, I've created quite a few gorgeous gowns for my customers as well as strong personal connections, I feel it's the right thing to do - sharing with you my most personal experience through the following pictures. You are looking at our rehearsal dinner that happened the night before our big day. Together with us were our best man Mark, maid of honor Mira and my bridesmaids.
What I wish to talk about in this post is the importance of treating yourself on your wedding day and throughout the preparations you may have prior your big wedding day, such as bachelorette party and rehearsal dinner. You see, I deeply believe in my wirk and my creations. I also adore them. I believe this is crucial to success- if I believe in what I do, also my customers will. There is no other way, I am really convinced about this.

It is crucial to have friends in life. With time passing by so fast and the amount of work we have to do, not knowing anymore what it means to be a day without your phone & computer, not checking tons of e-mails several times a day and being active on the social media, friends and family truly became a sanctuary - now even more than ever before! I only have a few close friends (I guess that's normal) and I consider myself very lucky for that. I love to spend time together as much as I can, even more I love to travel with them. But what I love the most about my friends is that they are my biggest supporters, they adore my work and - here comes the best part - they push me (consciously or subconsciously) to develop, explore and in the end do things I would never thought I would do them and even start to like them! This post is very special to me since I am about to reveal you something new - yes, we are pushing the boundaries yet again!
It was when we planned our trip together with my friend Mateja to Cinque Terre, that she asked me to make our iconic ruffle coat for her lovely daughter Ana. She owns already two, a pink one and a black one and she just wanted to match with Ana. I admit, I wasn't fond of the idea at first, especially with so much work. But, a friend is a friend and I just had to do the junior version of our statement ruffle coat. The rest is history. Because, dear ladies, we are proudly announcing The Lie by JPZ Junior line, which will consist of statement pieces from our collection - only in a smaller version! So now you can match with your baby girl - in the chicest way possible!

Pomembno je imeti prijatelje. V današnjem tempu življenja, ko več ne poznamo prostih dni ali vsaj dneva brez telefona, računalnika, objavljanja na socialnih omrežjih in preverjanja elektronske pošte nekajkrat na dan (če ne celo nekajkrat na uro), prijatelji in družina resnično predstavljajo tisto zavetišče, ki ga potrebujemo, da ne izgubimo sami sebe. Imam le nekaj bližnjih prijateljev, kar se mi sicer zdi normalno, hkrati pa velik privilegij, saj dostikrat težko najdeš vsaj enega dobrega prijatelja. Zelo rada preživljam z njimi kolikor časa le lahko, še raje pa z njimi potujem. Na potovanjih res kar precej odklopim delo - ne čisto, pa vendar dovolj, da si vsi skupaj napolnimo baterije.
Moje prijateljice so moje največje podpornice in, zaradi česar se počutim še posebej priviligirano - vedno znova me potisnejo (zavestno ali podzavestno) k nečemu novemu in dobremu, k nečemu, za kar si nikoli ne bi mislila, da bom vzljubila!
Tokratna objava je precej posebna zame, saj vam bom razkrila novo skrivnost!
Bilo je, ko smo načrtovali naše skupno potovanje v Cinque Terre, da me je Mateja prosila, če bi naš ikonični plašček z volani (črnega in roza ima sama) naredila tudi njeni hčerki Ani. Priznam, na začetku mi ni bila ideja čisto nič všeč, še posebej pri obilici naročil, ki me čakajo. Vendar - za prijatelje naredimo marsikaj, kajne in jaz sem preprosto morala nerediti plašč za Ano. In ostalo, drage moje, je zgodovina. S ponosom vam oznanjam, da z ekipo pripravljamo The Lie by JPZ Junior linijo, ki bo sestavljena iz ikoničnih kosov iz naših aktualnih kolekcij - le v pomanjšani, otroški verziji. Those who follow me and my brand, know very well, that I love contrasts. I spoke about them many times before. However, this time, I am creating contrast with a classic blazer, classic shopper bag, heels and - here it comes - track pants. Yes, this trend is not new at all - track pants with heels is already becoming a classic and we love it, but these looks are still mostly sporty. Extremely chic, but sporty, while iconic 3-stripe styles from Adidas Originals work anytime. Adidas originals mens 83-c vintage track pants are, when styled with heels and other elegant pieces, perfect even for a busy work day. Agree?

Let's face it, ladies - black is a go-to color for almost everyone and most of people stick with their classic black and white pieces on a rack while completely ignoring gorgeous colors like fuchsia, indigo blue, red, purple...
But why, why are bright, fun colors so often overlooked? Most of people are secretly terrified of styling them the wrong way or think that colors just simply don't look well on them. Every woman has her own set of color matching rules, that's normal, but most of the rules are restrictive, unfortunately involving more "don't"s than "do"s. And that's such a shameeee!!! Cause in reality, you can wear more colors together than you think. And lets face two important facts:
1. color blocking is oh so IN!
2. You can now fearlessly rock neon yellow red heels without Grandma's belt-shoe-bag rule ringing in your ear, which is sooooo OUT!
Now, these last sunny days made me wear our new Spring/Summer 2018 collection (including purple blazer dress and python shopper bag with red handles) and regarding the two rules mentioned above - well, I guess the pictures will speak for itself. Right?

We all need to have a classic navy blue in our closet. Why? Because it's as good as black. When in doubt, go for navy and you'll never go wrong. It's such an elegant color with eternal smell of sea. Can it get better than that...? It does! It's the choice of royalty - versatile in summer, winter, corporate or for pleasure, blue has never been more popular and w cancertainly say that blue is the new black. Now, let me dedicate this post to red color, red evening gowns and a few reasons, why should you go for a red evening gown (more often).
Red is not just a color. It's a state of mind. Red is rooted in blood... it instantly attracts attention, makes people excited and energetic. It's a powerful color, one of the first colors used in prehistoric art and in modern days most commonly associated with heat, passion, love and sexuality.
In fashion, re is and always was a very desirable color. There are many shades of red, thus every woman can find that perfect shade for herself.
I would say - when in doubt, wear red. A red dress can be a bold fashion statement and when worn well, you can create with it a look that is both classic and seductive. You can just never go wrong with red, in winter or in summer, on a summer wedding or a black tie event, red evening gown will always pull you out of a "nothing to wear" problem in the best possible way. Just keep your red dress the focal point of your ensemble, complementing it with simple accessories that add interest and contrast to your look. White pumps and leopard clutch, or more neutral nude, silver and gold pieces and you're good to go being the star of the night...

I guess I always loved writing and it's probably in my DNA since my mom is a journalist.
Over the years, i have written many columns and articles on fashion, but here's a new project, very dear to my heart. Why? I love to travel in style while being comfortable. And the airport is one of the best places to spot an authentic fashionista. Why? Cause there's something so effortlessly chic about the tops, bottoms, bags, shoes, sunnies and coats fashion icon picks to fly, making travelling look so stylish and hassle free! This are my top tips for you to travel in style:
1.Sunglasses are perfect jet-setter accessory and a great way to elevate an outfit while travelling.
2. Instead of pants, go for track pants! They are as fashionable as ever and perfect to style with sneakers or heels!
3. Fur vest - everyone should have one while travelling. They are great for warmth on the plane, not to mention extremely chic and luxurious.
4. Statement bag - yes, an amazing bag can make or break an outfit! Go for either a practical small cross body or, if you are heavy packer like I an, with many essentials, go for one that can be worn on your shoulders. The sun starts to set a little earlier and there’s an undeniable crisp chill in the air... Season of layering and chic outerwear has officially begun!
Yup, fall is around the corner indeed and for many fashion lovers, it's favourite period of the year! Why? Because it's time for some serious layering and layering your clothes is one of the most effective ways to put together a unique and interesting outfit.
When layering, you have to try contrasting colours as well as experiment with different fabrics and textures. Creating contrasts with materials such as wool, leather, fur, silk and knitwear will add an extra dimension to your look. Beside the stylish part, layering is also super practical during transitional weather period, when temperatures tend to vary a lot from morning till dawn. You just take off the coat or jacket and you're quickly adapted for warmer temperature.
In this look, I played with many different materials - leather, faux leather, wool, fur and knit and black colour was a base for the colourful pieces such as our best seller ruffle coat in turquoise, purple python skin boots and or amazing fur collar in beautiful mix of black, silver, purple and blue. Adding an unexpected twist to the look was crucial because of the colour matching, so pop of red zebra pattern in a form of the cutest little clutch, attached to my bigger tote was the perfect eye catching accessory to complement this layered fall look.
Dare to go bold this fall and create unexpected layering looks that are sure to make you stand out.

Spanish Travel Diary: Day 1 - Rosas & Barcelona September 20 2016, 1 Comment
Rosas is an essentially Mediterranean town with a notable tourist and seafaring tradition. Located in a unique natural environment in the northern area of the Costa Brava, it is less than 30 km from the French border and 160 km from Barcelona, so therefore it was my first stop on a "Spanish" tour. Rosas origins date back to the eighth century BC with the arrival of the Greeks. It is a modern town, which is culturally active with its proud traditions. It offers excellent shopping, restaurants, bars, beautiful beaches and fun nightlife.
Rosas is near to some of the most attractive and least crowded beaches of the Costa Brava. Just down the road, the vast stretch of beach runs all the way to historic Sant Martí de Empuries.
After enjoying Rosas, there comes the outstanding Barcelona with i's historic sights, fantastic restaurants with delicious tapas, world-class museums and art galleries. Heaven for every artistic soul...
Always inspired by great architecture, the first thing to see in Barcelona was Antonio Gaudi's magnum opus, the most visited monument in Barcelona, church Sagrada Familia. With its most amazing arches, towers and Nativity facade, Sagrada Familia truly is a masterpiece like no other. La Pedrera is another Gaudi's jewel worth visiting. Apartment building, commissioned in 1906 by businessman Pere Milà i Camps and his wife Roser Segimon i Artells, is the result of two buildings, which are structured around two courtyards that provide light to the nine levels: basement, ground floor, mezzanine, main or noble floor, four upper floors, and an attic, distributing 20 homes for rent. One of the most significant parts of the building is definitely the roof with skylights, staircase exits, fans and chimneys. All of these elements are constructed from timbrel and coated with limestone, broken marble or glass and have become real sculptures integrated into the building.
Amazing to see is also Barcelona Cathedral. Gothic cathedral, dedicated to young virgin Eulalia of Barcelona, co-patron saint of Barcelona, whose body is entombed in the cathedral's crypt, has an outstanding chapels and crypt with beautiful atrium, where you'll find cathedral's garden, fountain and even geese.

It is a pleasure to stroll through the narrow streets of the old city and it's also a health resort well appreciated for its pure fresh air.

Sibiu is a beautiful city in Transylvania, located 215 km north-west of Bucharest. Now the capital of Sibiu County, in the past - between 1692 and 1791 and 1849-1865 Sibiu was the capital of the Principality of Transylvania.
Sibiu is one of the most important cultural centre of Romania and was designated the European Capital of Culture for the year 2007. You just can not help yourself but to fall in love with it, once you are there. With small streets, beautiful old houses, cute restaurants, bakeries and antique shops, Sibiu is almost a copy of Ljubljana's old town, my home, so I guess this is one of the reasons I was immediately stunned by this adorable place. When there, just relax, enjoy good food, nice people and get carried away by amazing repertoires - Sibiu has three theatres, philharmonic orchestra and an annual festival of performing arts, called Sibiu International Theatre Festival. Interestingly - the old city of Sibiu was ranked as "Europe's 8th most idyllic place to live" by Forbes in 2008.
Rich with museums and theatres, Sibiu is a place to see for every culture lover out there.

Travel Diary: Romania Part 2 - Clubbing August 14 2016, 1 Comment
I’ve seen a lot of the world and visited many parties. But, no one does it better than the Romanians. I love club Loft in Bucharest. It’s the perfect fusion of amazing kitchen, bar, breath taking architecture, good music and amazing party. The concept of dining which slowly transforms to partying is simply the best for me. With this original concept Loft generates its own special energy. Like they say – to truly understand what Loft is all about, you have to be there at least once. And I promise – you won’t regret it! There, you truly start to realize that dining could happen at a spiritual level.
So, now being at Mamaia beach, very well known for amazing beach clubs, visiting Loft Mamaia was a must. They open at 3PM, serving amazing drinks and lunch and eating delicious food spontaneously turns into a party. Yes, the art is, that you barely notice transition…
And what is party without amazing friends? Meet my party animal, The Lie by JPZ Stylemaker Buta Oana Elena! I guess I am a very lucky person. Through my work as a designer, I’ve met so many amazing women that became my great source of inspiration. But some of this relationships turned to great friendships and Oana with her Otto are certainly one of them.
Visiting a beach club also demands a slightly different type of beach outfit. I love to work around a simple bikini, elevating it with silk tunic or scarf, belt, clutch and a lot of jewellery. Ever since I've visited Romania and Bucharest for the first time, I somehow fell in love with it. Beautiful cities, amazing history, nice people and most outstanding clubs and restaurants with delicious food are the reasons every traveler should visit this great country. And after beautiful cities, there comes luxurious seaside with beautiful Mamaia beach. Considered to be Romania's most popular resort, Mamaia is situated north-east of Constanza's city center on the Romanian Black Sea shore. Populated mostly during the summer, Mamaia is the perfect place for good food and music in stylish beach clubs. From a wide range of exclusive beach clubs, my pick during the day was Fratelli Beach&Club, serving a complete experience: delightful food in a beautifully designed restaurant and cozy big white wooden seats with even bigger umbrellas to protect and give you the much needed shadow from the hot sun. With beautiful beach setting and decor, feel free to go to the beach as chic as you can, since this is is surely the place where you'll see plenty of very good beach looks - yup, Romanian beauties know very well how it's done. Just throw on your favorite bikini and glam it up with some killer accessories - cool sunglasses, statement jewelry and a gorgeous bag will certainly do the trick!
