My Personal Style: Beach Bag To Make A Statement July 28 2019, 0 Comments

I admit - I tend to be heavy packer. What can I say - I love options. But, when packing for a sailing trip, I always go for essential, yet statement pieces. Packing right is a bit of a learning process and after a while, well, everybody learns the skill. On my countless trips to the sea-side I noticed that I keep wearing the same things over and over again (especially while on the boat, where you spend most of your day on the sea and get off the boat mostly in the evening for a delicious dinner). So, what are they? Well, a good bikini is a must, a statement bag which you can wear to the beach and beyond, some beautiful jewelry, pretty sunglasses and a beautiful cover-up you can dress up and down.
This The Lie by JPZ stripped cotton beauty with bamboo handles surely is a show stopper during day and night! The stripes in summer are just simply a must to any wardrobe. First, they look great against tanned skinned, but also, they are easy to style. Basically, you can pair them with everything, from brights and neutrals to prints for a more bold and fun look.

My Personal Style: The Godmother February 09 2019, 0 Comments

Yesterday I had the honour becoming a godmother to the sweetest little boy Richard. He is the son of a very dear friends of ours, who live in Romania and so this picturesque country became a place, I love to visit over and over again. Amazing restaurants, incredible food, great clubs and gorgeous nature are the main reasons you should visit Romania. I was writing about Romania already on my blog, you can read more about it HERE, HERE and HERE.
So, for this special occasion, I chose an off white velvet skirt and matching top and added a white fur stole and snake print bracelet bag for that extra glamorous touch. The temperatures were really cold so a warm wool coat was a must as well as tights. For a playful twist, I went for wool tights that were matching these winter velvet Cesare Paciotti sandals (yes, I must admit that the colorful tights trend is definitely one of my go for this season!).

My Personal Style: Travel Style March 28 2017, 1 Comment

I love to travel in style while being comfortable. And the airport is one of the best places to spot an authentic fashionista. Why? Cause there's something so effortlessly chic about the tops, bottoms, bags, shoes, sunnies and coats fashion icon picks to fly, making travelling look so stylish and hassle free! This are my top tips for you to travel in style:

1.Sunglasses are perfect jet-setter accessory and a great way to elevate an outfit while travelling.
2. Instead of pants, go for track pants! They are as fashionable as ever and perfect to style with sneakers or heels!
3. Fur vest - everyone should have one while travelling. They are great for warmth on the plane, not to mention extremely chic and luxurious.
4. Statement bag - yes, an amazing bag can make or break an outfit! Go for either a practical small cross body or, if you are heavy packer like I an, with many essentials, go for one that can be worn on your shoulders. This time, I chose our latest model from SS 2017 collection - elegant, unique yet bold and dramatic to truly make a statement!
5. Shoes! They are every woman’s guilty pleasure! I love to travel in flats and keep my heels in hand luggage in case I have to go straight to a meeting.

Spanish Travel Diary: Day 1 - Rosas & Barcelona September 20 2016, 1 Comment

Rosas is an essentially Mediterranean town with a notable tourist and seafaring tradition. Located in a unique natural environment in the northern area of the Costa Brava, it is less than 30 km from the French border and 160 km from Barcelona, so therefore it was my first stop on a "Spanish" tour. Rosas origins date back to the eighth century BC with the arrival of the Greeks. It is a modern town, which is culturally active with its proud traditions. It offers excellent shopping, restaurants, bars, beautiful beaches and fun nightlife.
Rosas is near to some of the most attractive and least crowded beaches of the Costa Brava. Just down the road, the vast stretch of beach runs all the way to historic Sant Martí de Empuries.
After enjoying Rosas, there comes the outstanding
Barcelona with i's historic sights, fantastic restaurants with delicious tapas, world-class museums and art galleries. Heaven for every artistic soul...
Always inspired by great architecture, the first thing to see in Barcelona was Antonio Gaudi's magnum opus, the most visited monument in Barcelona, church Sagrada Familia. With its most amazing arches, towers and Nativity facade, Sagrada Familia truly is a masterpiece like no other. La Pedrera is another Gaudi's jewel worth visiting. Apartment building,
commissioned in 1906 by businessman Pere Milà i Camps and his wife Roser Segimon i Artells, is the result of two buildings, which are structured around two courtyards that provide light to the nine levels: basement, ground floor, mezzanine, main or noble floor, four upper floors, and an attic, distributing 20 homes for rent. One of the most significant parts of the building is definitely the roof with skylights, staircase exits, fans and chimneys. All of these elements are constructed from timbrel and coated with limestone, broken marble or glass and have become real sculptures integrated into the building.
Amazing to see is also Barcelona Cathedral. Gothic cathedral, dedicated to young virgin Eulalia of Barcelona, co-patron saint of Barcelona, whose body is entombed in the cathedral's crypt, has an outstanding chapels and crypt with beautiful atrium, where you'll find cathedral's garden, fountain and even geese.

Let me close this blog post with the most amazing thought: "Each makes use of the gift God has given them. Developing this gifts is the highest social perfection. One who builds and must do things should not criticize the works of others, nor defend their own, but make and direct criticisms against their own works to purify and improve them."
Antonio Gaudi

My Personal Style: Take A Little Coffee Break September 18 2016, 6 Comments

The importance of rituals... I guess the need for ritual is a basic human instinct, as urgent as our need for food, shelter and love. Everybody, everywhere seems to be busy and stress is becoming an assumption of modern life. So, it's important to take time for yourself, even if only half an our a day. I always love to take some time while being busy in Ljubljana city center and just take a little coffee break, sit down, relax and observe the people rushing around, some dressed really well and therefore being my inspiration and food for my soul... So, here I am, taking some time off during a busy day, wearing my absolute favorites: The Lie by JPZ statement shirt from SS 16 CiTy cHiC collection & black croc shopper with this amazing leopard coat from the latest FW 16/17 Haute Hippie collection. Yes, always, every fall, there is a leopard trend fashioistas just can't avoid, making it urban, edgy and super cool!

Statement belt is certainly an accessory that can make any look glamorous in an instant. Also, when we come down to beach outfits. Travel Diary: Romania Part 3 - Sibiu August 17 2016, 2 Comments

Sibiu is a beautiful city in Transylvania, located 215 km north-west of Bucharest. Now the capital of Sibiu County, in the past - between 1692 and 1791 and 1849-1865 Sibiu was the capital of the Principality of Transylvania.
Sibiu is one of the most important cultural centre of Romania and was designated the European Capital of Culture for the year 2007. You just can not help yourself but to fall in love with it, once you are there. With small streets, beautiful old houses, cute restaurants, bakeries and antique shops, Sibiu is almost a copy of Ljubljana's old town, my home, so I guess this is one of the reasons I was immediately stunned by this adorable place. When there, just relax, enjoy good food, nice people and get carried away by amazing repertoires - Sibiu has three theatres, philharmonic orchestra and an annual festival of performing arts, called Sibiu International Theatre Festival.  Interestingly -
the old city of Sibiu was ranked as "Europe's 8th most idyllic place to live" by Forbes in 2008.

Rich with museums and theatres, Sibiu is a place to see for every culture lover out there.

Travel Diary: Romania Part 2 - Clubbing August 14 2016, 1 Comment

I’ve seen a lot of the world and visited many parties. But, no one does it better than the Romanians. I love club Loft in Bucharest. It’s the perfect fusion of amazing kitchen, bar, breath taking architecture, good music and amazing party. The concept of dining which slowly transforms to partying is simply the best for me. With this original concept Loft generates its own special energy. Like they say – to truly understand what Loft is all about, you have to be there at least once. And I promise – you won’t regret it! There, you truly start to realize that dining could happen at a spiritual level.
So, now being at Mamaia beach, very well known for amazing beach clubs, visiting Loft Mamaia was a must. They open at 3PM, serving amazing drinks and lunch and eating delicious food spontaneously turns into a party. Yes, the art is, that you barely notice transition…
And what is party without amazing friends? Meet my party animal, The Lie by JPZ Stylemaker Buta Oana Elena! I guess I am a very lucky person. Through my work as a designer, I’ve met so many amazing women that became my great source of inspiration. But some of this relationships turned to great friendships and Oana with her Otto are certainly one of them.
Visiting a beach club also demands a slightly different type of beach outfit. I love to work around a simple bikini, elevating it with silk tunic or scarf, belt, clutch and a lot of jewellery. Jewellery stack stack stack + layer layer layer was a key outfit component this time and I just loved the classic yet sexy result I achieved with it in the end. On the other hand - I loved how Oana worked around a simple white t-shirt, making her statement bra with The Lie by JPZ belt & fringed clutch the focal point of her look. Chic with a sprinkle of boho and a lot, a lot of sexy, Oana surely makes one of our favourite The Lie by JPZ Stylemakers!

Travel Diary: Romania Part 1 - Mamaia Beach August 13 2016, 5 Comments

Ever since I've visited Romania and Bucharest for the first time, I somehow fell in love with it. Beautiful cities, amazing history, nice people and most outstanding clubs and restaurants with delicious food are the reasons every traveler should visit this great country. And after beautiful cities, there comes luxurious seaside with beautiful Mamaia beach. Considered to be Romania's most popular resort, Mamaia is situated north-east of Constanza's city center on the Romanian Black Sea shore. Populated mostly during the summer, Mamaia is the perfect place for good food and music in stylish beach clubs. From a wide range of exclusive beach clubs, my pick during the day was Fratelli Beach&Club, serving a complete experience: delightful food in a beautifully designed restaurant and cozy big white wooden seats with even bigger umbrellas to protect and give you the much needed shadow from the hot sun. With beautiful beach setting and decor, feel free to go to the beach as chic as you can, since this is is surely the place where you'll see plenty of very good beach looks - yup, Romanian beauties know very well how it's done. Just throw on your favorite bikini and glam it up with some killer accessories - cool sunglasses, statement jewelry and a gorgeous bag will certainly do the trick!

My Personal Style: '90s Look For A Ferry Trip July 24 2016, 6 Comments

The '90s trends made a huge comeback and they are not going away quite yet. And, it's the '90s that I draw inspiration from for my casual look on a ferry boat.
You know, that history tends to repeat itself and the saying definitely holds true in the fashion industry.
Here are a few trends from the '90s, you simply must rock this summer:
CHOKER: do you remember the tattoo style version? I guess we all wore them. The look lives on and you can do it in a more sophisticated way - with a black leather strap or, go even further and choose them in different colours or materials (such as metal) for a truly glamorous appearance.
FLORAL PRINT: the floral print in little daisy prints has made a strong comeback and it's just perfect for romantic summer outfits.
PLATFORMS: Even though you thought you'd never see sky high platforms again, they are BACK! You can certainly go for a more sophisticated version with a block heel.
FLANNEL: nineties grunge is back and more polished than ever, so the flannel shirts are here. Wear it or tie it around your hips for a more super cool look.
DENIM: what are 90's without denim? Well, they don't exist... So, denim jackets, high waisted jeans and hot pants are a must!
CROP TOP: the belly baring shirts were a '90s staple and they are back! Either for sporty and casual looks or in a more sophisticated tone in combination with high waistline umbrella and pencil skirts or pants.

My Personal Style: Aloha Sunday Sunset June 19 2016, 1 Comment

Unlike studio strobes, natural lighting changes hour to hour, day to day, season to season, and of course, location to location.  It’s always something new and different! But for me, the most beautiful is the summer sunset light, always making you look warm & beautiful. The last 30 minutes of daylight, on up to about 20 minutes after sunset are definitely the best recipe on how to make amazing photos for your blog, Facebook, Instagram, or well, just for yourself. Now, from the light, let’s talk about dressing down that has never looked so cool as now, with our stunning fringed summer shoppers. Agree? I like to go casual on Sundays, but still want to create a special, comfortable, yet chic look at the same time.
Special is our IT BAG of the season from cruise 2017 Señorita collection, golden fringed bag with bamboo handles, casual are jeans and this fun sweater, while comfortable yet chic represent this retro inspired cool pair of Renini sandals.

My Personal Style: Red Jumpsuit For Saturday Night Out June 11 2016, 1 Comment

Red is the color of extremes. It's the color of passionate love, seduction, violence, danger, anger, and adventure. Having said that, it is the perfect color for Saturday night out and what better way than doing it effortless cool in our luxurious all-in-one.

Yes, jumpsuits are effortless, chic and fun. But there are some good tips and tricks you should follow :

  1. Finding a jumpsuit that fits your body perfectly is key to looking polished and put together. Don’t wear anything too tight or too loose.
  2. Don’t loose your figure. A lot of jumpsuits have either a cloth belt or you can easily add your own belt to define your waist if the jumpsuit isn’t tailored. Emphasising your waist is a great way to give you that curvy look.
  3. A jumpsuit can easily be dressed up for a formal event, when the style of the jumpsuit is appropriate. All you have to do is accessorize it to fit the party.

So, this Saturday, add some attitude to your wardrobe, make a statement at the party and go for our sexy red jumpsuit, spiced up with green tassel pochette!
